The Opéra de Monte-Carlo is an opera house integrated into the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco, designed by Charles Garnier and opened in 1879. Built to address the lack of cultural amenities in the principality during the 1870s, the venue was conceived by Prince Charles III and the Société des Bains de Mer as a concert hall annexed to the casino. The main public entrance leads through the casino itself, while the prince maintained a private entrance on the western side. Originally known as the Salle Garnier in honour of its architect, the building underwent renovation in 2004–05, during which opera productions temporarily relocated to the Salle des Princes at the Grimaldi Forum.
