Peavey Plaza is a sunken public plaza in downtown Minneapolis designed by landscape architect M. Paul Friedberg and completed in 1975 adjacent to Orchestra Hall. Located at the south end of Nicollet Mall between South 11th and 12th Streets, the brutalist modernist space features an integrated amphitheater and has been recognized by the Cultural Landscape Foundation as a "marvel of modernism." The plaza was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and underwent rehabilitation in 2019 after being identified as one of Minnesota's ten most endangered historical sites.
