Purschenstein Castle in Neuhausen, East Germany, was built around 1200, probably by Boresch I, as a toll and escort castle guarding the Old Bohemian Track, a vital salt-trading route connecting Leipzig to Prague via the Deutscheinsiedler Saddle. Originally constructed in the late 12th century, the castle displays Renaissance architectural features. In 2005, a Dutch businessman acquired the property and oversaw its renovation; today it operates as a hotel, the Schlosshotel Purschenstein, and remains a heritage monument in Saxony.
