Opened on 2 January 2009 in the Tennyson suburb of Brisbane, the Queensland Tennis Centre is an A$82 million tennis facility designed by Populous and built on the site of the demolished Tennyson Power Station. Since its inception, the venue has hosted the Brisbane International, a combined men and women's international tournament that replaced both the Next Generation Adelaide International and the Mondial Gold Coast Women's championships.
