Republic Plaza, a 714-foot-tall skyscraper in Denver, Colorado, stands as the tallest building in the city and the entire Rocky Mountain region. Completed in 1984 and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 56-story structure was built by PCL Construction Services and clad in Sardinian granite over a reinforced concrete frame. The building contains 1.2 million square feet of office space across most of its floors, alongside three retail levels featuring shops, restaurants, and services. Its distinctive 3-story marble lobby hosts a quarterly "Art in Public Places" program showcasing Colorado and regional artists. The building gained national attention in 2007 when its top 20 stories were illuminated in purple with giant letters "C" and "R" to celebrate the Colorado Rockies' World Series debut. Since its construction, Republic Plaza has served as the venue for the annual Mile High Stair Climb, a 56-story fundraiser for the American Lung Association held on the last Sunday of January.
