Republic Plaza is a prominent skyscraper complex designed by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa and completed in 1995 at Raffles Place in Singapore's Downtown Core. The development comprises two towers set atop a ten-storey podium containing three floors of retail space. The primary tower, Republic Plaza I, rises 280 metres across 66 floors with a distinctive varying octagonal cross-section that provides flexible interior space for tenants, while the secondary tower, Republic Plaza II, stands 23 storeys tall. The project evolved through multiple ownership changes beginning in the mid-1980s, with City Developments Limited acquiring a controlling stake in 1987 and eventually purchasing full ownership in 1996. Construction of the first tower began in December 1991, followed by the second tower starting in November 1995, with the complex officially opening on 25 January 1998. The building underwent significant renovation between 2018 and 2019.
