Built in 1937 with Public Works Administration funding, the Sebastian County Courthouse/Fort Smith City Hall is a four-story stone and concrete structure in Fort Smith, Arkansas, designed by local architects E. Chester Nelson and the firm Bassham & Wheeler. Modest Art Deco styling marks the building's exterior, while its interior showcases richer decoration: marble walls, terrazzo marble flooring, and ornamental moldings frame the lobby and courthouse spaces. Originally serving both county and city functions, it now houses county facilities exclusively, though the building retains its civic prominence on South 6th Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
