South Side Baptist Church is a historic Southern Baptist edifice located at 2400 Dodson Avenue in Fort Smith, Arkansas, built in 1948. The large two-story brick structure exemplifies the Moderne style, a rare local example of the architectural movement. Its symmetrically composed main facade features recessed entrances flanking a prominent round Romanesque arch, whose interior wall is pierced by a matching round-arch window. Narrow windows and projecting corner sections articulate the brick mass, with corner piers providing vertical emphasis and extending the building's height. Originally constructed for educational facilities, the church was recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
