Located at 805 Loudon Heights Road in Charleston, West Virginia, the Summers House is a Tudor Revival residence built circa 1939 for Elizabeth and Okey Summers—a theater enthusiast and prominent banker, respectively. Designed by prolific local architect Charles A. Havilant, the home departs from conventional Tudor design, eschewing steep roofs and half-timbering in favor of Elizabeth's aesthetic preferences and the constraints of its site, a former stone quarry. Constructed from sandstone quarried on the property, the house is distinguished by tall chimneys, casement windows featuring diamond-shaped leaded glass panels, and a cathedral ceiling. Situated in Charleston's affluent South Hills neighborhood, the Summers House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
