Teatro Rossini is an opera house in Pesaro, Italy, originally built as the Teatro Nuovo and inaugurated on 10 June 1818 with a performance of Gioacchino Rossini's *La gazza ladra* conducted by the composer himself in his native town. The theater seats 860 and features a classical horseshoe-shaped auditorium with four tiers of boxes and a gallery. Renamed in Rossini's honor in 1854, the building has endured significant structural challenges: a 1930 earthquake necessitated renovations, and extensive decay forced its closure in 1966 for fourteen years. It reopened on 6 April 1980 and since that year has served as the permanent home of the annual Rossini Opera Festival, held each August. Additional renovations followed in 2002.
