Tunnel View is a scenic viewpoint situated on California State Route 41 in Yosemite National Park, designed in the National Park Service rustic style and opened in 1933. Positioned directly east of the Wawona Tunnel portal, it marks the dramatic moment when visitors emerging from the tunnel first glimpse Yosemite Valley stretching eastward before them. The expansive vista encompasses the southwest face of El Capitan on the left, Half Dome centered on the horizon, and Bridalveil Fall to the right. The viewpoint's location, less than 1,500 feet from Artist Point where Thomas Ayres created the first artistic rendering of Yosemite Valley in 1855, underscores its significance as both a modern gateway and a site of enduring scenic importance. A hiking trailhead leading south to Inspiration Point originates at the viewpoint.
