Villa Foscari, located in Mira near Venice, is a Palladian villa designed by Andrea Palladio and constructed in the mid-1550s for two patrician brothers. The building exemplifies Renaissance architectural principles and is also known by the evocative name La Malcontenta ("The Discontented"), which legend attributes to the confinement of one brother's wife within its walls as punishment for failing to fulfill her marital obligations. The villa is recognized as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
