The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino is a 30-story International Style hotel and casino located near the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. Designed by Martin Stern Jr. and opened on July 2, 1969, as the International Hotel, the 375-foot tower features a distinctive Y-shaped design inspired by the UNESCO Headquarters. The property occupies 64 acres and contains 2,956 rooms alongside 54,923 square feet of gaming space. From 1981 to 1990, it held the distinction of being the world's largest hotel. The resort includes the 1,607-seat International Theater, the 400-seat Westgate Cabaret, a sportsbook called the Superbook (opened 1986), a Las Vegas Monorail station, and entertainment venues themed to Elvis Presley, who performed frequently in the hotel's early years. Originally developed by Kirk Kerkorian, the property was purchased by Hilton Hotels in 1971 and expanded in 1975 and 1979 before being sold to Westgate Resorts in 2014.
