Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino stands on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, occupying the site of the original Aladdin hotel that operated from 1966 to 1997. The postmodern tower, completed in 2000 and rising 118.9 meters, was built by real estate developer Jack Sommer in partnership with London Clubs International following the demolition of its predecessor in 1998. Constructed of concrete, glass, and steel, the resort encompasses approximately 68,600 square feet of casino space, roughly 2,500 hotel rooms and suites, and PH Live, a 7,000-seat entertainment venue. After opening in August 2000 under the Aladdin name, the property encountered financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy in 2001. Planet Hollywood International and Starwood Hotels acquired and renovated the resort between 2004 and 2007, transforming it into its current identity. The resort is now owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment, which assumed control in 2010.
