Built in 1909 in Elmhurst, Illinois, the William and Jennette Sloane House is a Prairie School residence designed by architect Walter Burley Griffin. The two-story main structure flanked by single-story projecting wings exemplifies Griffin's early work in the style. Its exterior of white stucco punctuated by dark wooden boards and continuous rows of casement windows with decorative muntins reflects the Prairie School's characteristic horizontal lines and restrained ornament. The house is a well-preserved example of Griffin's smaller-scale residential designs and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
