Built in 1865 in Circleville, Ohio, the William Marshall Anderson House stands as a leading example of Gothic Revival domestic architecture. Constructed of brick and wood beneath an asphalt roof, the house is distinguished by ornate wooden trim and ogive windows characteristic of the style. The residence may have been designed by local architect William Doane, who also designed several schools and Circleville City Hall. Its well-preserved nineteenth-century architecture earned it a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
