Yoros Castle is a Byzantine fortress ruin built in 1262, situated at Anadolu Kavağı in Istanbul's Beykoz district, where the Bosphorus meets the Black Sea. Though constructed during the Byzantine period, the castle became known colloquially as the Genoese Castle after the Genoese acquired and held it in the mid-15th century. The ruin stands prominently above Joshua's Hill, commanding views of one of the world's most strategically significant waterways.
