Zayed Sports City Stadium is a 45,000-seat multi-purpose venue in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, designed by architects Henri Colboc and Populous. Opened in 1979, it became the largest stadium in the UAE and was renovated in 2009 to meet international standards. The stadium has hosted major tournaments including the 1996 AFC Asian Cup (where the UAE reached the final), the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, the 18th Arabian Gulf Cup, and multiple FIFA Club World Cups (2009, 2010, 2017, and 2018). It also served as a venue for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, staging both the opening and final matches. The stadium's prominence is underscored by its appearance on the AED 200 banknote.
