The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is a historic hotel in Quebec City's Old Town, designed by New York architect Bruce Price and built by the Canadian Pacific Railway, opening in 1893. Rising 79.9 metres with an additional 54 metres of ground elevation, this 18-storey Châteauesque structure dominates Place d'Armes and has become one of Canada's most iconic landmarks. As one of the first grand railway hotels in the country, it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981 and has undergone three expansions, with the most recent completed in 1993. The hotel is managed by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and is widely considered the most photographed hotel in the world.
