The Headquarters Historic District at West Glacier, Montana encompasses the administrative and residential core of Glacier National Park's western entrance. Built primarily between the 1920s and post-World War II era, the district reflects two distinct architectural periods: signature National Park Service Rustic structures from the 1920s, including the Superintendent's Residence and original Administration Building (both 1923), alongside more utilitarian housing and facilities constructed by the Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps; later Mission 66 initiative buildings from the immediate postwar years introduce more modern aesthetics to the landscape. The district's shared infrastructure—messhall, bunkhouses, and utility buildings—supported the park's operations and workforce, creating a self-contained administrative community listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
