Located in McGregor, Iowa, the Joseph "Diamond Jo" Reynolds Office Building and House is a two-story brick Romanesque Revival structure built in 1885 by the shipping magnate Joseph Reynolds, a New York native whose Diamond Jo steamboat line became a major transportation enterprise on the Mississippi River. The building combines office and residential spaces and features characteristic Romanesque elements including round arch windows and doorways, terra cotta detailing, and a triangular pediment above the main entrance. A projecting bay window was added to the second story around 1900 and has since been removed. After Reynolds's death in 1891, the building served diverse functions—grain trader offices, billiard parlor, post office, winery, and shops—reflecting McGregor's evolving commercial life. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and designated a contributing property in the McGregor Commercial Historic District in 2002.
