Located in the Morningside neighborhood of Sioux City, Iowa, the Julius and Anine Oversen House is a two-story brick residence built between 1899 and 1900 during a period of rapid urban expansion. Constructed in the Italianate style, the house features a wraparound porch, segmental-arched windows, bracketed eaves, and a low-pitched hip roof. Julius Oversen, a brick mason who later worked on the Sergeant Floyd Monument in Sioux City, likely served as contractor for the residence. The property's historic designation, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007, encompasses not only the main house but also a two-story frame carriage house, a cistern, an inground planter, and two hitching posts, preserving the domestic landscape of a successful tradesman's household from the turn of the twentieth century.
