Kayarohanaswami Temple in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, is a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Śiva in the Dravidian architectural style. Established in the 6th century CE, the temple's presiding deity is Kayarohana, accompanied by his consort Nilayathakshi. The temple was built by the Lakolisha cult, a sect that originated in Gujarat and established only one other temple in Tamil Nadu, at Kanchipuram. The temple achieved distinction through the praise of three celebrated Nayanmars—Appar, Sambandar, and Sundarar—whose devotional hymns enhanced its spiritual significance. A notable feature is the idol of Thyagaraja, which is crafted from lapis lazuli.
