Kodeeswarar Temple, a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, stands in Kottaiyur village on the western outskirts of Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. Built in the Dravidian architectural style, the temple features a five-tiered Raja Gopuram, or entrance tower, with rectangular walls enclosing the various shrines. The presiding deity, Koteeswarar, and his consort Parvathi (known here as Pandhadu Nayaki) are venerated in this sacred site, which earned recognition in the 7th-century devotional work Tevaram, composed by the Nayanmars; it is classified as one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, temples praised in that canonical text. The temple maintains an active ritual schedule with four daily ceremonies and hosts four major festivals throughout the year, including Margaḻi Tiruvathirai, Shivaratri, Panguni Uthiram, and the Arrow festival. It is administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of Tamil Nadu.
