The Madavar Vilagam Vaidyanathar temple is a Dravidian-style Shiva temple located one kilometer south of Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu. Built by Thirumalai Nayak during the 16th century, it is the largest Shiva temple in the district and features two precincts enclosed by a granite wall. The five-tiered gateway tower was originally constructed by Chandrakula Pandya Vijayanagar, with Nayak kings later commissioning the pillared halls and major shrines, which display artistic sculptures characteristic of Nayak art. Shiva is worshiped here as Vaidyanathar—the "God of healing"—and his consort Parvati as Sivakami. The Siddhamirtham tank within the complex holds sacred significance, with its waters believed to possess curative properties. Four daily rituals and three yearly festivals are observed at the temple, notably the twin festivals during the full moon days of the Tamil months Adi and Thai.
