Located in Tirana, the Presidential Palace was commissioned by King Zog I and completed in 1941 as his official residence. Designed by architect Gherardo Bosio in the rationalism style, the palace stands as a distinctive example of fascist-era architecture, notable for its uniqueness both within Albania and across the broader European fascist architectural tradition. Following the fall of the monarchist regime in 1945, it transitioned to government use for official ceremonies and state receptions from 1946 onward. The palace's decorative bas-reliefs were obscured by draping during the 1970s cultural revolution, preserving rather than destroying them. In 2013, it resumed residential function when President Bujar Nishani occupied a reconstructed villa within its grounds. Designated as a Cultural Monument of Albania, the palace nonetheless requires significant restoration work.
