Riparian Plaza is a 53-storey mixed-use skyscraper designed by Harry Seidler and completed in 2005 in Brisbane's central business district. Rising 250 metres to its communications spire and 200 metres to roof level, it briefly held the title of Brisbane's tallest building before being surpassed by Aurora in 2006. The structure comprises eleven basement car park levels accessed via a helical annexe, twenty-five commercial floors, and twelve residential levels with fifty penthouse apartments. A recreation centre with swimming pool occupies the 39th floor between the commercial and residential sections. The tower is crowned by a 50-metre communications spire and features an expansive open plaza and promenade totalling 3,500 square metres, with Madame Wu restaurant located on the upper plaza level. Developed by Bloomberg Incorporation Limited at a cost of A$130 million on the last waterfront vacant block in the CBD, it provided Brisbane's first new premium office space in a decade and remains an iconic presence on the city skyline.
