South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa is a 25-story resort on Las Vegas Boulevard in Enterprise, Nevada, south of the Las Vegas Strip, completed in 2005. Owned and operated by Michael Gaughan, founder of Coast Casinos, the property opened on December 22, 2005, with an 80,000-square-foot casino and 652 rooms at a cost of $625 million. A second hotel tower followed in 2006, and a third in 2008. The resort expanded further in 2010 with new restaurants and additional casino space, eventually housing 2,163 rooms across its towers and a 137,232-square-foot casino. Beyond its gaming and hotel operations, the property includes an equestrian and events center and serves as namesake and sponsor of Gaughan's NASCAR team and the South Point 400 stock car race.
