Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, developed by Circus Circus Enterprises and opened on March 2, 1999, at a cost of $950 million. Built on the former site of the Hacienda hotel-casino, the resort features a tropical South Seas theme across 120 acres and includes a casino spanning nearly 148,000 square feet, 3,209 hotel rooms, and a separate Four Seasons hotel occupying floors 35–39, which became the first Las Vegas hotel to win the AAA Five Diamond Award in 1999. Subsequent expansions in 2003 added the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, a second tower (THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, renamed W Las Vegas in 2024) with 1,117 rooms, and the Mandalay Place shopping mall. The resort offers diverse attractions including the House of Blues, Shark Reef aquarium, an 1,800-seat theater that has presented Broadway productions and, since 2013, the Michael Jackson One show, and the Michelob Ultra Arena. The property is currently owned by Vici Properties and operated by MGM Resorts International.
