The Sri Sivalokanathar Temple in Tirupunkur, Tamil Nadu, is a Dravidian-style Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, located approximately three miles west of Vaitheeswaran Koil. The temple holds significance in Saivite tradition as the setting of a legendary episode involving Nandanar, one of the 63 Nayanmars. According to local lore, when the Dalit saint was barred from entering the temple's inner sanctum, the idol of Nandi within the precinct miraculously shifted at Shiva's command to permit Nandanar an unobstructed view of the shrine from the temple gate.
