The Traill County Courthouse in Hillsboro, North Dakota, is a Beaux-Arts structure completed in 1905 by the architectural firm Buechner & Orth. Distinguished by its tall domed tower, the building exemplifies the classical monumentality characteristic of early twentieth-century courthouse design. A mid-century addition in the International Style was constructed in 1955 by Fargo-based architects Kurke Associates, reflecting evolving architectural priorities of the postwar era. The courthouse was recognized for its historical significance when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
