Located in Rockingham, North Carolina, this two-story Art Deco post office was designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under Louis A. Simon and constructed in 1935–1936. Built of yellow brick veneer across five bays, the building exemplifies the streamlined aesthetic of its era. Its interior features a notable 1935 Works Progress Administration mural, "Human Aspects of the Postal Service," by artist Edward Lanning. The building served as Rockingham's post office until 1977, when Richmond County acquired it from the Postal Service. It was recognized as a National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
