The Walter Beauchamp House, built in 1905 at 492 Prospect Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is a Colonial Revival "double decker" residence with an unusual architectural pedigree. Constructed by Walter Beauchamp, a conductor for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, the house departs from typical examples of its type, which are ordinarily found on narrow urban lots and contain two units; this specimen occupies a spacious lot and contains a single large unit, making it an anomaly both for its setting within the Hot Springs neighborhood and for its uncommon style in that locale. The house was recognized as a historic structure and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
