The Architects' Building was a seventeen-story Art Deco office tower completed in 1931 by Montreal's Ross and Macdonald firm at the corner of Beaver Hall Hill and Dorchester Boulevard in Downtown Montreal. Designed shortly after the same architects' celebrated Édifice Price in Quebec City, it echoed similar stylistic and massing principles. The architects themselves occupied offices on the thirteenth floor from the building's opening until around 1934. Canadian Industries Limited (CIL), then jointly owned by Imperial Chemical Industries and DuPont, became the principal tenant from 1934 onward, and the building was renamed CIL House around 1936. Following an antitrust settlement in 1954 that dissolved the ICI–DuPont partnership, CIL was split; DuPont Canada remained in the building—thereafter called the DuPont Building—until 1967. The structure was demolished in 1968.
