The Baltimore World Trade Center is a 30-story modernist skyscraper designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and completed in January 1977 on the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, Maryland. Designed by principal architects Henry N. Cobb and Pershing Wong following planning that began in 1966, the building rises 405 feet above a one-acre plaza between Pratt Street and the harbor. Constructed of concrete and glass at a cost of $22 million, the tower encompasses 422,000 square feet of space, including 309,000 square feet of offices. A distinctive feature is its regular pentagonal footprint—the world's tallest skyscraper with a regular pentagonal base. The building's design integrates a substantial ground-level plaza and a 13,000-square-foot lobby, establishing it as a landmark of Baltimore's modernist waterfront development.
