Built in 1901 in Lewisville, Indiana, the Guyer Opera House is a 2½-story brick structure on a limestone foundation with a gable roof and commanding front facade featuring a large parapet and cast iron storefronts. The theater space, originally located on the second floor, closed in 1942 but was rediscovered in 1969 after more than two decades of disuse. Now operating as a non-profit community theater since 1976, it remains the only surviving gaslight-era theater in Henry County and one of the county's most significant historic buildings. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, the Guyer continues restoration and programming through volunteer efforts, hosting productions in both the upstairs auditorium and the Aurora Studio Theatre on the lower level.
