Harlan Hall, a historic opera house located at 603 Locust Street in Marshall, Illinois, opened in 1872 as a venue for theatrical performances. Designed in Italianate style with tall, narrow windows, wide bracketed eaves, and a steeply sloping roof, the building originally served local and traveling theatrical acts alongside concerts, public meetings, and other civic events. A distinctive feature was the livery stable occupying its first floor, allowing patrons to house their horses—an uncommon amenity for theaters of the era. In 1904, B. F. Johnson purchased the building and converted it to a movie theater, ending its use for live theatrical performances, though it continued functioning as a civic auditorium. The building subsequently housed a Moose Lodge and has since been adapted for commercial use on its first floor. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 2001.
