The High Museum of Art, located in Atlanta's Midtown arts district on Peachtree Street, is the largest visual arts museum in the Southeastern United States. Spanning 312,000 square feet, it is a division of the Woodruff Arts Center and has served as a cultural hub since 1926. The museum's comprehensive collection exceeds 20,000 works of art, with particular distinction in nineteenth- and twentieth-century American decorative arts, folk and self-taught art, modern and contemporary art, and photography. Beyond its exhibitions of international and national significance, the High offers festivals, live performances, public conversations, independent films, and educational programs throughout the year, along with spaces designed for children and families, an on-site restaurant, and a museum store.
