Luxor Las Vegas is a pyramid-shaped casino hotel on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, opened in October 1993 by Circus Circus Enterprises. The 30-story pyramid contains the world's largest atrium by volume and houses a casino alongside over 4,000 hotel rooms. Its iconic light beam, emanating from the pyramid's tip, is recognized as the most powerful man-made light in the world. Originally themed around ancient Egypt, the resort underwent significant modifications: a major 1996–1997 expansion added two 22-story hotel towers and Nevada's first 3D IMAX theater while scaling back the Egyptian aesthetic, and a subsequent $300 million renovation by MGM (which acquired the property in 2005) continued this shift while introducing new dining and entertainment venues. The resort later became home to the Strip's first esports arena, opened in 2018. Now owned by Vici Properties and operated by MGM Resorts International, Luxor has hosted notable entertainers including Carrot Top, the Blue Man Group, and Criss Angel.
