Located in Mylapore, Chennai, the Madhava Perumal Temple is a Dravidian-style sanctuary dedicated to the Hindu deity Vishnu, worshipped here as Madhava Perumal alongside his consort Lakshmi, known as Amirtavalli. The temple holds historical significance as the believed birthplace of Peyalvar, one of the first three of the twelve Alvar saints who flourished during the 6th–9th centuries CE. Administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the temple operates daily with six rituals performed at various times throughout the morning and evening hours.
