Located 8 kilometers from Madurai on the road to Melur in Tamil Nadu, the Yoga Narasimha Perumal Temple stands as a remarkable example of Pandya Kingdom cave sculpture. Built in 770 CE by Madurakavi, minister to King Parantaka Nedunjadaiyan, the temple features a principal image of Narasinga Perumal carved directly from the rock face of the Yanaimalai hills. The site includes a front mandapam and a separate stone temple dedicated to the goddess Narasingavalli. Situated between the pilgrimage sites of Alagar Koyil to the north and Thirumohur to the east, this Dravidian structure demonstrates the sophisticated rock-cut architectural techniques practiced during the medieval Pandya period.
