The Thirupuliyangudi Perumal Temple stands on the banks of the Thamiraparani river in Tamil Nadu, about 22 km from Tirunelveli, as one of the nine temples of the Nava Tirupati—a group of Vishnu shrines revered by the medieval saint Nammalvar and celebrated in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham. Built in the Dravidian architectural style, the temple enshrines Vishnu as Bhumipalar and Lakshmi as Pulingudivalli, and holds the distinction of being one of the 108 Divya Desams. A granite wall encircles the complex, encompassing all its shrines, while a flat-structured rajagopuram serves as the gateway tower. The temple follows the Tenkalai tradition and observes six daily rituals alongside three yearly festivals, notably the ten-day Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebration during the Tamil month of Margali and the Nammalvar birth festival featuring Garudasevai across all nine Nava Tirupati temples. It is also classified among the Navagraha temples of the region, associated with the planet Budha.
