The Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, designed by Frank Gehry and completed in April 2003, is a 110,000-square-foot performance venue at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. The $62-million complex houses two theaters: the 900-seat Sosnoff Theater, featuring orchestra and balcony sections with acoustics by Yasuhisa Toyota and an adjustable acoustic shell for chamber and symphonic music, and the flexible 200-seat LUMA Theater for theater and dance. The center also contains four rehearsal studios and professional support facilities for orchestral, chamber, jazz, theater, dance, and opera programming. Its heating and cooling systems operate entirely on geothermal power, eliminating fossil fuel consumption during standard operations. The Fisher Center hosts the Bard Music Festival and SummerScape festival while serving the college's academic programs throughout the year.
