Vdara is a 57-story condo-hotel designed by Rafael Viñoly and part of the CityCenter complex on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Opened on December 2, 2009, as a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Dubai World, it stands across from the Aria Resort & Casino. The non-gaming property contains 1,495 suites alongside a two-floor spa, meeting facilities, pool deck, market cafe, and bar. The building's reflective surface and concave design create a notable architectural consequence: before opening, a design flaw was discovered whereby the structure acts as a parabolic reflector, concentrating sunlight to generate extremely high temperatures at the pool deck. In 2021, MGM acquired full ownership from The Blackstone Group while continuing as operator.
