Vedaranyeswarar Temple is a Dravidian Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, located in Vedaranyam, Tamil Nadu. Revered in the 7th-century Tamil Shaiva canonical text the Tevaram, it is the only temple mentioned in all seven Thirumurais and holds significance in the legends of the Nayanar saints Appar and Sambandar, who are said to have opened and closed its doors through their devotional poems. The temple preserves numerous inscriptions from the Chola period and maintains six daily rituals as well as three yearly festivals, with its annual Brahmotsavam drawing thousands of devotees. It is administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
