The Pallikondeswarar Temple in Surutupalle, located in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, is a Hindu shrine devoted to Shiva and constructed in the Dravidian architectural style. Built by Vijayanagara king Harihara Bukka Raya in the 1340s, the temple is distinguished by its unusual iconography: the presiding deity Pallikondeswara is depicted in a reclining posture upon the lap of his consort Parvati, unlike most Shiva temples. The complex features a three-tiered gopuram gateway tower, multiple shrines including those of Valmeegeeswarar and Maragathambigai, and is organized into three precincts with numerous halls. Daily rituals are performed six times throughout the day, and the temple observes five annual festivals, with Aipassi Annabishekam as its most significant celebration. The temple is presently maintained by the State Institute of Temple Administration of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
